Description

Fortified Church of Biertan

Having been on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the church is surrounded by three rows of fortified walls with a sacristy door that contains 19 locks in one, which won first prize at the Paris World Expo in 1900. Today in this fortress takes place the Full Moon Festival broadcasts with the most scariest horror movies, an impressive place by its grandeur and beauty.

Sighisoara Citadel

The city presents itself as one of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval towns in Europe being designated as Unesco World Heritage Site, whose legend reminds us that here was born and grew Vlad Tepes. This perfectly intact 16th century gem with nine towers, cobbled streets, burgher houses and ornate churches rivals the historic streets of Old Prague or Vienna for atmospheric magic.

Optional: Viscri Village with its fortress or Prejmer Fortified Church

Viscri – The House of Prince Charles

Included in the Unesco world heritage, the village looks like a fortress. On the “boulevard” of Viscri with large gates and stuck houses all the tumult is made by the geese, roosters and cows returning from pasture, where Prince Charles also has a traditional house that he bought dating from 1875.

Biserica fortificata Prejmer

Being included in UNESCO, the fortified church of Prejmer is built by the Teutonic Knights for more than 800 years ago. Inside it was build the famous “death organ” which was considered a unique war device in Romania.

Brasov

Located on one of the oldest trade routes where took place the exchange of goods between Romanian Country, Moldova and Transylvania in the late sixteenth – century Brasov becomes a prosperous city and one of the most important cultural centers in the country.

Rasnov Citadel

Land of white roses, the city is situated on the foothills of Bucegi mountains. Its history began more than 2,000 years ago when Dacians were living in its territory. In the last 600 years became one of the strongest fortresses of Brasov Region.

The Bear’s sanctuary

Spread over 69 hectares of oak, Libearty Bear sanctuary is the worldwide largest brown bear reservation. It boasts the rescue of 95 bears in the country and abroad who have lived a nightmare full of abuses in tiny and rusty cages.

Bran Castle

Built on a rock not far away from Brasov city we find the silhouette of one of the world’s most famous fortification: Bran Castle erroneously sensationalized as „Dracula’s Castle”. It seems that Vlad the Impaler never lived in the castle. However, the legend seems to be stronger than reality … here pouring into films as a direct allusion to the alleged vampire traits of the Wallachian ruler.
